What are the Best Motorcycle Rides in Fort Lauderdale?
Indian River Lagoon
This is a short loop and an easy ride, with scenic roads, luxury beach homes, and the Eliott Museum with classic cars and motorcycles for everyone to see . The whole loop is just under 50 miles; plan on a relaxing highway trip. This loop is mostly two-lane roads with mild twists and turns. Starting in Fort Pierce, take A1A east from Highway one, across the bridge out to Hutchinson Island. Follow A1A south along the island all the way to Stuart Beach. All along here you’ll find plenty of stops for food and great beaches to put your feet up and people watch. At Stuart Beach, just follow the highway as it turns west and goes over another bridge back to the mainland. Turn north on 707, which is the frontage road, and follow it back to the Museum. Clean roads, mild riding, and a great cruise for the day.

Key West Trip
Fort Lauderdale is a good base station for a trip to Key West. You can experience the highway over the ocean, with blue water on both sides. Contemplate that scene from True Lies that takes place on the highway here as you cruise through the open air. You can stop at any of the keys and relax, or push for the goal at Key West. You can do this out and back in a day, or stay anywhere along the way. Just aim your bike south and twist the throttle.

Where Can you find Motorcycle Hangouts in Ft. Lauderdale?
Fort Lauderdale is great for motorcyclists. You’ll find some great biker bars, as well as some classy local spots to relax after a day of riding.
Flossie’s Bar and Grill
Live music, lots of bikers, and pretty good food. On a Sunday you’ll have trouble finding parking because there are so many riders who come here. Karaoke on Thursdays, and a great atmosphere.
4:30 Boardroom Bar
This place is dog friendly if you brought your furry friend with you. They have a weekly motorcycle show and a classic car show. Very cool place to hang out with friends. No food, so find dinner before you come.

Elbo Room
Not a biker bar, but a great beachy vibe. They’ve been famous on the beach here for quite a while. Live music, party atmosphere, and plenty of fun. They have outdoor seating for drinks. Can get crowded at times, but don’t let that scare you away.
How good is the Ft. Lauderdale weather for motorcycle riding?
Fort Lauderdale is muggy and overcast in summer, and warm and mild in winter. Rainstorms here can be intense, but they’re usually short. It’s a great year-round destination because the weather is so mild in winter. Expect wintertime temperatures to reach 65 or 70 every day.
Bring your cooling vest and a vented jacket if you can. Also, lightweight vented gloves will keep you out of the sun and cool on your ride.
What are the Ft. Lauderdale Motorcycle Laws?
Helmets are required for any riders or passengers under 21 in Florida, and everyone on the bike is required to have eye protection. Lane splitting and lane filtering at stoplights are illegal here, so take it easy.
How Should I prepare For My Ft. Lauderdale Ride?
When planning your Ft. Lauderdale ride, make sure you consider the weather and temperature. Pack some layers for riding in the winter months (just in case), and lighter gear for summer riding. Summer can get hot, so make sure you bring mesh jackets and lightweight gloves for the ride.
When packing, make sure you read our article on traveling with gear. If you don’t have gear, that isn’t an issue. Many Twisted Road motorcycle owners have helmets and other gear they provide to riders. Just let us know and we can help you coordinate this.
Enjoy riding in the Sunshine State!
