Michael the rock band playing, flat track riding, father AND grandfather shares his experience with Twisted Road and life on two wheels. 

Tell us about your riding experience. How long have you been riding, and how many bikes have you owned? How did you first become interested in riding? 

I have been riding motorcycles since about 1983. Mostly dirt bikes. I started racing flat track motorcycles in 2006. Won Colorado Amateur State Champion in 2014 and that’s the year I got my Harley. It’s my daily driver unless someone wants to rent it.

Have you taken any long moto trips? Tell us about them - where did you go, where did you stay, who did you ride with?

I've ridden around Colorado for mountain riding. Been to Waco, Texas and back just for the ride and a cool water slide. Been to Springfield, Illinois and back for the ride and to watch the Springfield Mile Motorcycle Race.

Tell us some more about you - where do you live? What kind of work do you do?

I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I work at Weatherford International in the chrome department. We make tooling for the oil pumps.

What are your hobbies - what do you enjoy doing when you're not riding?

I still ride dirt bikes. I trail ride with friends and family. I Race Flat Track Motorcycles when I can. I work on and maintain all 5 of my motorcycles when needed. I’m in a Metal/Punk Rock band. I’m a home owner so those chores are plentiful. I got 3 daughters, 2 grandchildren and another on the way so needless to say, I stay busy.

Tell us about your experiences with Twisted Road - either as an owner, as a rider, or both. What do you enjoy most about being part of our community?

I rent my bike out through Twisted Road to help grow the riding community. It also gives me a reason to keep it clean and ready to roll. The money I make renting it, helps me afford to maintain it.

What are your favorite rides near your hometown?

I like to head west, up the mountain and the roads are endless from there. I like to hit random small towns and a brewery if it’s on the way.

Last question - where do you hope to ride one day?

I would like to ride down the west coast one day. Top to bottom.
