John L. of Itasca, IL shares about trailering his motorcycle for a memorable ride in sunny FL. Plus a memorable scenic ride just outside of Chicago. 

Tell us about your riding experience. How long have you been riding, and how many bikes have you owned? How did you first become interested in riding?

First started riding at 18 years old. Had two bikes at a younger age. Picked up riding again at an older age and now I have two bikes.

Have you taken any long moto trips? Tell us about them - where did you go, where did you stay, who did you ride with?

Me and a buddy trailered our bikes from Illinois to Anna Maria Island, Florida for a month-long stay in the warmer weather. We did some great island-hopping trips from Anna Maria Island, to St. Armands Circle, to Siesta Key and finally Casey Key. We headed north over the 275 bridge to St. Pete Beach. My buddy took the most epic trip from Anna Maria Island all the way to Key West, almost eight hours.

Tell us some more about you - where do you live? What kind of work do you do?

I live about 25 miles outside of Chicago in Itasca, IL. I am involved in a few riding groups, but always looking for more riding opportunities.

What are your hobbies - what do you enjoy doing when you're not riding?

I enjoy exercising, drinking, and riding, not in that order of course (and not at the same time).

Tell us about your experiences with Twisted Road - as either an owner, as a rider, or both. What do you enjoy most about being part of our community?

I have rented my bike on Twisted Road, but also love the articles and stories in the community,

What are your favorite rides near your hometown?

One of the best rides in my area, is from Rockford to Dixon along the Rock River. I highly recommend it.

Last question - where do you hope to ride one day?

Pacific Coast Highway in California, and Beartooth Highway in Montana.
