Member Spotlight: Q&A with RV Living Motorcyclist, Lucinda B.

Lucinda B. conquered her fear of riding a motorcycle and has taken on some of the best routes, scenery, and moto rallies in the US. Read more about this riding writer and her adventures on the road.

Tell us about your riding experience. How long have you been riding, and how many bikes have you owned? How did you first become interested in riding?

I have been riding for three years - on my second bike, actually with a sidecar now. I was introduced to riding in my mid-fifties, a little later than most. I had the greatest fear of riding, oddly enough, but that just turned into a challenge for me to overcome.

Have you taken any long moto trips? Tell us about them - where did you go, where did you stay, who did you ride with?

I rode all over Sturgis for a month, staying in my RV and hitting all the rides possible. I rode almost every day (exceptions to get work done :) I ride a sidecar and rode with my husband who rides a Harley Heritage.

Tell us some more about you - where do you live? What kind of work do you do?

I became so enchanted with riding that I now work and travel full-time in an RV just so I have new places to ride all over the United States.

What are your hobbies - what do you enjoy doing when you're not riding?

I'm a travel agent and writer. I loved the Sturgis motorcycle ride in South Dakota so much that I wrote a book on Amazon, "14 Sturgis Rally Rides in 6 Days". So if I'm not riding, I'm writing about my rides and my RV Travels around the U.S. I'm currently writing a series for 'Ride Texas Magazine' on what motorcyclists can do to navigate to a full-time RV lifestyle. I'm also on the board of the United Sidecar Association - I really like to get involved.

Tell us about your experiences with Twisted Road - as either an owner, as a rider, or both. What do you enjoy most about being part of our community?

What I enjoy most is hearing other people's riding stories. There is always some idea you get on a new place to ride, a new way to ride or just plain inspiration on how people make riding a part of their lives.

What are your favorite rides near your hometown?

My favorite rides are actually all over the United States now, but I like rides that involve getting to know the local area - checking out a hole in the wall cafe or bar along the way or visiting the town's local unique offerings. Sometimes it's something silly, like the world's largest ball of twine. Sometimes it's something unique, like Lee's Marble Shop.

Last question - where do you hope to ride one day?

I wish I could name one specific place, but the list is so long! My top hope would be to ride in another country, but it's a little hard to find a sidecar rental much less get my sidecar there. Maybe one day, though.
