Love is reliable, comfortable, and dependable.
And Twisted Road member Steven N. knows he found love—in a Yamaha FZ-07. The duo took on the Florida Keys, soaking up the sun, exploring the roads, and more Steven loves every mile they conquer. Luckily, he is generous enough to share his story (and Yamaha!) with the Twisted Road Community.
How long have you been riding & which bikes have you owned? How did you become interested in riding?
I've been riding since February 14th, 2015. I bought my FZ-07 on Valentine's Day and we are in a monogamous relationship. I have never had another bike and perhaps never will.
What motorcycle trips have you taken (long or short)? Where did you go, stay, & explore?
I live in Key West, so riding up and down the iconic Florida Keys is a privilege. The 7-Mile bridge is my favorite—but, checking out the Summerland Key jumping bridge, cruising down Middle Torch Road, or hitting No Name Pub make the list as my local-only favorites.
What hobbies do you enjoy when you're not riding?
I enjoy weightlifting and reading. I'm a smart meathead—or at least I like to think so.
What do you enjoy about being part of the Twisted Road community?
I love meeting renters from all around the country and I really enjoy hearing their stories on the island and how much fun they had. It's a nice feeling knowing you helped make someone's trip special.
What are your favorite biker-friendly places around your hometown?
Really anywhere on the island, but you can't go wrong parking your bike in Downtown Duval and (responsibly) checking out the many bars and restaurants on the block. Fort Zachary Taylor is also a beautiful place to go and enjoy the beach. Not to mention Mallory Square during sunset with all the street performers.
What are your favorite rides near your hometown?
Just cruising up and down the Overseas Hwy is unbeatable. There are plenty of islands along the archipelago to explore with local restaurants, parks, and pubs. There's only one road in and one road out, so just keep riding.
What location is on your moto trip bucket list?
I want to take my bike to the Blue Ridge Parkway and check out the infamous Tail Of The Dragon. I love the mountains; they are a perfect juxtaposition to the flat and narrow coastal region that is The Keys. I wouldn't mind spending a week or so up in the mountains!
