Valley of Fire

A ride of just under an hour takes you to the Valley Of Fire. The red Aztec Sandstone offers visitors and explorers a visual experience that some say looks like it could be another planet. Domes, arches, and petrified logs are the perfect backdrop to take a moment to take it all in.

Lake Mead

Another 40 minutes or so will take you to this man-made lake on the Colorado River. Sport fishing, boating and skiing are some of the activities available on the water. Under the water, scuba diving is a popular sport as Lake Mead is ranked as one of the top freshwater lakes in the U.S. And on land, short desert hikes offer scenery that cannot be seen by motorcycle or car.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Grandma Daisy's Candy Store and Ice Cream Parlor. Just 15 minutes from Lake Mead—stop by for fudge, dipped apples, and candy charcuterie boards so you can try a little of everything!

Hoover Dam

Visit this amazing landmark to see where man-made innovation exists side-by-side with nature's inspiration. This engineering marvel is just 30 miles away from the Strip.

Need some sustenance after all that riding? Follow the smell of BBQ—just 15 minutes from the Hoover Dam—to Fox Smokehouse BBQ. From feasts (check out the The Meat Sweats) to Flintstone's-style beef ribs, to a BBQ sundae, you might need a bigger belt!

Have some extra time? Head down to Nelson and check out Eldorado Canyon Mine Tours.

How to Plan For Any of Your Favorite Las Vegas Motorcycle Routes

Planning a motorcycle trip to Las Vegas, like our favorite above, promises adventure and unforgettable experiences.

But proper preparation is key. Here's your quick guide to prepare for you Las Vegas motorcycle ride:

  • Plan Your Route: Research and map out your route well in advance. Consider scenic routes like the ones above. Factor in rest stops, fuel stations, and accommodations along the way.

  • Check Your Rental Motorcycle: Ensure the motorcycle is in top condition for the journey. Perform a thorough inspection, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and overall mechanical condition. Do this before every ride.

  • Gear up Wisely: Consider the weather forecast and plan your gear accordingly, especially if traveling during hot summer months when ventilated gear is a must.

  • Secure Accommodations: Book your accommodations in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons. Las Vegas offers a wide range of lodging options, from luxurious hotels on the Strip to motels and campgrounds in the surrounding areas. Choose accommodations that cater to motorcyclists if possible, offering secure parking and amenities tailored to your needs.

  • Plan Your Entertainment: Las Vegas is renowned for its entertainment options. Research shows, concerts, attractions, and dining experiences you'd like to enjoy during your stay. Don't forget to budget for entertainment expenses and reserve tickets or make reservations in advance when necessary.

  • Know the Local Laws: Familiarize yourself with Nevada's traffic laws and regulations, including helmet laws, speed limits, lane-splitting rules, and DUI regulations. Obey traffic laws at all times and ride defensively to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey.

  • Stay Hydrated and Rested: Riding in the desert can be physically demanding, especially during hot weather. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and taking regular breaks to rest and stretch your legs. Avoid riding during the hottest parts of the day, and plan your itinerary accordingly.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Prepare for emergencies by carrying a roadside emergency kit, including tools, a tire repair kit, spare parts, a flashlight, and emergency contact information. Make sure your phone is fully charged and carry a backup power source in case of emergencies.

  • Share Your Itinerary: Inform a trusted friend or family member about your travel plans, including your route, accommodations, and estimated arrival times. Check in with them regularly during your trip to keep them updated on your progress. Also, we recommend sharing your location on Google Maps so others can know where your at continuously (if you want that!).

  • Enjoy the Ride: Finally, embrace the sense of freedom and adventure that comes with motorcycle travel. Take time to appreciate the stunning scenery, explore hidden gems, and create lasting memories on your Las Vegas motorcycle trip.
